Why We Review Games Months After Release
A game at launch and a game six months later can be almost different products. Balance patches, new content and quality fixes change how something actually plays.
We deliberately hold off on some titles because the first weeks are chaos. Servers wobble, difficulty gets retuned, and early reviews often describe a version nobody plays anymore.
Coming back later also lets us see whether a game held our interest or quietly got uninstalled. That staying power is one of the most honest signals there is.
It means our coverage can feel a little slow compared to the hype cycle, and we're fine with that. We'd rather be late and right than fast and wrong.
If a game we skipped early turns out great after updates, we'll happily give it the full write-up it deserves.
